The earth-shattering Seismic Talus is the biggest enemy you’ve encountered yet in Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom, but you know what they say: the bigger they are, the harder they fall.
So far, Echoes of Wisdom has provided you with a range of tools to help you come up with your own answer. However, the many boss battles function a little differently.
When fighting bosses, you’ll have to rely more on the brand new Swordfighter form acquired in Suthorn Ruins than with regular enemies. This is because bosses often have a very specific weak point that is much easier to hit with a sword than with an Echo. You’ll also need to punish the temporary openings that hitting these weak points gives you as efficiently as possible – which, again, is a lot easier with a sword.
How to defeat the Seismic Talus in Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom
To defeat the Seismic Talus, you must attack the glowing purple orb that is part of its body.
If you have swordsman energy at your disposal, all you have to do is walk up to it and swing your sword. But if you don’t, the Darknut Echo is the best one to summon. This is because his metal suit can deflect the Talus’ stone-based attacks, allowing him to stagger and disable the glowing orb.
Once the orb is removed from the Talus’ body, you can damage it in any way you want, but your sword is best. Releasing the orb should also give you some energy absorbers, so make good use of that.
In the second phase the sphere moves towards the shoulder of the Talus. The best way to deal with it now is to wait for it to slam into the ground with both hands and then use your sword to swipe the orb away while it is at ground level.
If you run out of energy, you can also position yourself so that you’re right next to the Talus, then summon a Darknut if it’s stuck in the floor. Your Echo should focus on the right spot if you are close enough to the sphere.
This makes the Talus furious, but not much harder to deal with. This time the orb is at the top of his head, which will be visible when he slams his hands into the ground. You can use his hands as a bridge, walk up and hit them with your sword to end the fight!
If you win here, you’ll get a full Heart Container and new powers for Tri. From here the open world of Echoes of Wisdom really reveals itself, allowing you to choose between the Gerudo Desert or Zora Villages.
