The Legend of Zelda series is known for its horses, but as Princess Zelda takes on the role of Hylian hero in Echoes of Wisdom, it’s not just the citizens who need her help, but the kingdom’s animal inhabitants as well.
One of Hyrule Ranch’s noble horses has gone missing while grazing. So now it’s up to Zelda and Tri to track down the runaway horse and hopefully form a horse ally along the way.
Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom Runaway Horse location
To find the runaway horse, head west (left of Hyrule Ranch) and through the rock formations filled with Tektites.
Just south of the Tektites, at the location indicated in the screenshot below, you will find a small island, surrounded by water, sunk into a low hole.

To save the horse from its predicament, you’ll need to use a very specific set of Echoes. Platforms like the Platboom won’t work – there just seems to be something in the way the horse works that prevents it from standing on moving objects.
However, he can use trampolines to improve his already impressive jumping power!
Place a trampoline on one side of the small island, then take a running start and the horse will automatically use it to jump out and onto the bank of the hole.
You can then drive back to Hyrule Ranch with your new friend and talk to the farmer.
While you won’t receive any monetary reward or special items for your efforts, you will unlock the ability to ride one of the horses in Hyrule Ranch. They’re quick and effective ways to explore new areas where you don’t have any fast travel points, and they can make covering large distances very easy.
But something to consider is that when you dismount and leave your horse behind, it will remain there. You’ll get a map marker to remind you where you left it, but you’ll have to return to your horse to take off again – or you can just head back to Hyrule Ranch and saddle up a new horse.
