So you have collected more tough mangoes than you know what to do with and received the Golden Fan as a reward: but what does it actually do?
Throughout Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom, Princess Zelda receives several unique items as rewards for important side quests, but not much advice on what to do with them. They’re obviously rare and powerful items of great value, but you can’t sell them, equip them, or use them to expand your abilities – at least not immediately.
But once you finally unlock a use for the Golden Fan, it does something really cool.
This is what you need to do!
Where do you use the Golden Fan in Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom?
The Golden Fan, like all unique reward items in Echoes of Wisdom, is used by the mechanic Dampe to create a new automaton for Princess Zelda.
These automatons are powerful battle tools that defeat monsters in exciting and bombastic ways, but require regular maintenance.
After completing the main storylines in the Gerudo Sanctum and Jabul Waters and returning to Hyrule Castle, you will meet the inventor Dampe in Hyrule Field, north of Hyrule Ranch.
You can then visit Dampe at his workshop in Eastern Hyrule Field to craft automatons. The first is created by fusing two Echoes together, but subsequent machines require the unique items you get from the Echoes of Wisdom mini-games.
After completing three side missions to create three more automatons, you’ll get one final side mission, in which you’ll finally be able to use the Golden Fan – even though it’s probably the first of these items you’ll actually find!
So all you really need to know is that you will eventually unlock a use for the Golden Fan. If you’re in the early game, continue with the main story and you’ll arrive at Dampe’s workshop naturally during your adventure!
But if you want to track something down right now, you can find every Heart Piece in Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom here.
