Bayer Leverkusen concludes an agreement with Saudi-Arab side Al-Nassr about the sale of striker Victor Boniface. Leverkusen-head coach Xabi Alonso confirmed that the Nigeria International missed the training prior to the Champions League match against Sparta Prague and Al-Nassr work to complete similarities, both with the German champions and Boniface.

The latter is not expected to be a problem. The 24-year-old is expected to be the third best-paid player in the Saudi Pro League, according to a source with knowledge of the case, while the transfer costs to Leverkusen are reportedly approximately $ 52 million.

Earlier on Tuesday, Al-Nassr completed the sale of Anderson Talisca to Fenerbahce and opened the Squad-Slot where they had worked through the window. CBS Sports revealed on the CUSP of the Summer Deadline that the Riyadh side had tried to find new houses for Talisca or Sadio Mane. The moment their eyes were aimed at strengthening their midfield, but Rodri’s injury made it difficult to free Mateo Kovacic from Manchester City, which instead strengthens the attack of head coach Stefano Pioli.

They will be sure that they have done that if this deal comes across the line. Boniface was one of the stars due to the early months of the unbeaten domestic domestic 2023-24 season of Leverkusen, scored 21 goals and offered 10 assists in all competitions. However, the striker has struggled with injuries since missing the Africa Cup of Nations.

In the meantime, Patrik Schick’s fine shape has dropped Boniface from the starting line -up this season; He has indeed no longer started with a match since the 4-0 defeat in Liverpool at the beginning of November. Van Leverkusen is expected to replace Boniface if his move is completed and already linked to Brighton striker Evan Ferguson.

Alonso confirmed that conversations are going on between Boniface and the Leverkusen -hierarchy and added: “We prepare without Boni.” He added that his side “gets closer” to make further signing sessions and labeled himself “very satisfied with the team and with our quality”.
