V Rising

Indie developer Stunlock Studios has done just that revealed the details about the first post-launch update for V Risingand it’s a pretty big update.

The new update will add a host of new content to the vampiric survival action RPG, the most significant of which includes another new region “just north of Silverlight.”

That’s unfortunately all we can do with that region for now, but there are still a few teases like a “deadly new gauntlet from V Bloods.” Every region within V Rising has its own theme and side notes, as well as its own “V Blood” mini-bosses that give you power-ups.

Another big addition with the new 1.1 update is the much-requested “Fusion Forge,” which finally gives players the ability to craft the gems of their dreams, allowing them to create the ultimate build for their preferred playstyle. Previously, this loot was largely distributed randomly, as were the jewels, so this is a welcome addition.

The new Fusion Forge allows players to take their two favorite weapons that have their favorite properties or attributes, choose the weapons they want, and create a new gem that gives that modification to a new piece of equipment. This will dramatically change the endgame, with players able to craft even more special equipment.

Stunlock also gives players another long-requested feature: what they call “risk-free” player-versus-player combat. This means that players can duel each other directly or build their own ‘arenas’ in their castles, where they can also battle it out.

Each PVP mode, once completed, will return players to their pre-battle state and will not result in them losing any equipment or health. The new PVP modes aren’t limited to one-on-one either; multiple players can participate in a large battle royale.

All new content for V Rising’s 1.1 update will be released sometime in 2025, and Stunlock promises even more new content and features that haven’t been revealed yet.

V Rising was fully released for Windows in May 2024 (via Steam) and received a PS5 port in June 2024. Receive our extensive review here!
