Rebellion has announced that Sniper Elite: Resistance will meet its target release date of January 30, 2025, coming to PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, Xbox One and PC on that date.
As usual with this series, those who pre-order will get the bonus content of a Target Führer mission, where you can go out and try to kill Hitler. They also get more weapon skins and the Karabiner 98 rifle.
In addition, there is a Deluxe Edition of the game, which includes the Season Pass with DLC content that will follow later this year. If you pre-order the Deluxe Edition, players will also get the M1911 pistol and two days early access.
In Sniper Elite: Resistance, Karl Fairburne’s old co-op partner Harry Hawker takes the spotlight, as this SOE agent goes on a mission behind enemy lines to aid the French Resistance.
You can expect this to build on the well-rounded stealth action sniping experience of Sniper Elite 5, with large open levels offering plenty of options for how to complete the mission, optional kill list objectives, multiple infiltration and extraction points, and some side missions. also complete. These can take the form of new propaganda missions, which you can find and activate by spotting propaganda posters in levels, which then take you to a mini-mission where you play as a resistance fighter.
We went hands-on with Sniper Elite: Resistance at Gamescom this year and said: “Sniper Elite has become a bit of a stealth-action comfort food over the past decade, after really digging into the sandbox levels and mission structure had been established. Sniper Elite: Resistance doesn’t set out to revolutionize the series, but rather give it a new campaign, a few new twists and tweaks to the formula, and just let you enjoy a nice glass of red – to go with everything red that you spill in the game.”
