Developer First Watch games announced they removed in-game player content Rogue company with former Twitch streamer Dr Disrespect.
The in-game skins featuring Dr Disrespect and the level designed by the streamer, whose real name is Guy Beahm, have both been removed from the game in the first major update since 2023.
“Hey Rogue Company, we’ve disabled Dr Disrespect content that was previously available in the game. We will issue full Rogue Buck refunds to every affected account this week,” the developers said. The developer said that players will receive the refunds from July 8 to July 14.
The content removed from Rogue Company is the latest affiliate to cut ties with Beahm following a wave of sexual impropriety allegations against the streamer, where he eventually admitted to sending sexual messages to a minor.
Although the developer is offering refunds for the content, this was criticized by players as the refunds were in-game currency rather than monetary refunds – especially considering the Dr Disrespect skin itself cost $20.
In a Reddit post, user RESCOBAR1997 (who also provides the above image as a screenshot) hit the developers for offering Rogue Bucks to the players in lieu of monetary refunds, saying that their payment for the skin should be refunded with the original payment.
Rogue Company’s player base has dropped to around 350 to 400 noted by Steamcharts. The lack of updates may have contributed to the exodus of players from the game. The game is free to play on PC (via Steam), Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PS4.
Several other companies and studios also have ties to Dr. Disrespect broken, for example, an alleged cameo in NBA 2k24, headset maker Turtle Beach and the studio he co-founded, Midnight Company.
