Palworld 2025 roadmap promises crossplay & world transfers

To mark the first anniversary of Palworld’s early access release, developer Pocketpair has released a roadmap of what to expect in future updates through 2025. Most exciting are major new features including co-op crossplay, world transfers for Pals, and a World Tree ending scenario.

It’s less of a roadmap and more of a to-do list, to be honest, as there’s no timeline to match the list of features and content that Pocketpair has outlined. For example, we have no idea when to expect crossplay. Still, it’s great to see the team focusing on some pretty important features for the game.

The future Palworld roadmap includes the following:

  • Co-op crossplay
  • World transfers for friends
  • World Tree / End Scenario
  • Further Ways to Strengthen and Improve Pals
  • Various new content such as new Pals and technologies
  • Game collaborations (including Terraria)
  • Improvements to world object placement
  • Improvements to basic friends
  • Improvements to optimization
  • Improvements to UX

In addition to the game roadmap, Pocketpair also celebrated its first anniversary by putting the game’s soundtrack on YouTube with 28 songs included.

Palworld is available on PC, Xbox Series

Palworld has had tremendous success; the meme-worthy mix of Pokémon-like monsters, base building, crafting and weapons proved an instant hit last January. However, that success has brought with it a lot of criticism. In September, Nintendo and The Pokémon Company announced a lawsuit against the indie developer, apparently alleging infringement of a recently obtained patent for capturing and summoning monsters in battle. Pocketpair promised to fight this lawsuitand it feels like Nintendo’s case may be a bit shaky and vague… although we don’t really know how the Japanese courts will judge the case.
