Details about the new escape area and the three sections of the game system
In this episode a new “Escape” section has been added in addition to the traditional “research” and “Somnium” sections. Each section contains a different playable character and the story progresses as players switch between these three gameplay sections.

Research
In investigations, take control of the protagonist, Kaname Date, following the trail of the missing Iris. The story unfolds while you visit various practical locations, investigate research scenes and questioning important witnesses. Date also uses the visual improvement functions of his AI-exchanged prosthetic left eye, ‘AI-Ball’, to discover vital instructions that can help solve the matter.
Somnium
Somnium is one of the determining characteristics of the series. In this segment, take control of AIBA – in female humanoid form – instead of the kaname date. Use a device called the “PSYNC” machine, enter the dream world of a witness to discover hidden memories and buried truths, all within a strict time limit of six minutes.
The dream world is formed by the personality and memories of the subject, which means that the laws of reality no longer apply. Instead, each somnium follows its own unique set rules. Barriers known as “mental locks” block access to deeper memories, and players have to take different actions to unlock them.
In this section, every choice you make uses a specific amount of time. By understanding the rules of the dream world and selecting the best actions, you can explore efficiently and make the best use of your limited time.
Escape
Upon escape, take control of Iris, which is stuck in a closed room. Your goal is to solve the puzzles that are spread throughout the room and find a way out. During this section you will be in communication with the Kaname date and AIBA and Hints received through conversations with them. You must carefully examine objects and items around the Chamber to discover the instructions that are needed to escape. Some things you collect may not be useful in itself, but by combining them with other items, you can unlock their true potential.
