Hello games has launched the No one’s heaven Omega update, introducing even more ways to experience the ever-expanding space travel simulation. The British developer also unveiled a free trial of the game, which is now live on all platforms and will be available until February 19 at 6:00 PM GMT.
The Omega update, also known as No Man’s Sky Patch 4.5, includes a “complete overhaul” of in-game expeditions. These were introduced in 2021 and gave players a series of challenges across the galaxy that are unlocked in stages and offer time-limited exclusive rewards.
Other highlights include a reworked Atlas Path (the main storyline) and new ships that can be added to your fleet. Here’s an overview of what to expect in the No Man’s Sky Omega update:
- Starborn Runner – Cut through space and the atmosphere in the ultra-slim Starborn Runner spaceship. This unusual ship has a localized vector field that allows it to hover above solid surfaces.
- A new way to start expeditions – Dive straight into community expeditions from existing save games. Bring your favorite spaceship and multi-tool and tackle the challenges of the expedition in familiar style.
- Grab a pirate dreadnought – Board defeated pirate capital ships to confront the captain and claim their ship. Take on the universe with your fleet around your own dreadnought!
- Omega Expedition – Answer the call of the universe in a new community expedition. All participating Travelers embark on a journey together on the beautiful planet Nafut Gamma and chart a course through the Milky Way. Explore, build, fight and more through a diverse series of milestones, unraveling the threads of a mystery about the past, the present and what could have been…
- Atlas path rework – The classic Atlas Path mission has been given new impetus, culminating in a final, consequential choice. Witness the Atlas in all its grandeur and decide whether to embrace – or deny – the path it offers. Both paths will have a lasting impact on your relationship with the Atlas.
- Atlas Sceptre – Complete the Omega Expedition to claim this limited edition Staff Multi-Tool. This unusual ceremonial staff is of mysterious origins, but is said to have been hand-forged by a Korvax priest entity, in tribute to the Atlas.
- Prepare expedition facilities – Stock up on technology and cargo in preparation to take on the challenges of community expeditions – all accessible from aboard the Space Anomaly.
- Accessible notifications – Manually scroll through the available notifications to easily access mission guidelines, contextual hints, and general guidance.
- Atlas Flight Pack – This lightweight jetpack, powered by a fiery crimeson core, is available to all travelers who complete the Omega Expedition.
- Save the expedition loot – Use the Shared Inventory terminal aboard the Space Anomaly to fuel your primary save with resources and technologies earned during community expeditions!
- New planetary missions – Alien lifeforms offer rewards for a variety of new planetary missions, with objectives specific to the alien’s personality, as well as the climate, geography, and ecology of their home planet.
- Twitch drops – Sit back and watch Twitch streamers play No Man’s Sky Omega to earn in-game rewards. Visit the Twitch Drops page to sign up and link your platform accounts, then tune in to the campaign running from February 15 to 19.
- Rewards for expedition achievements – A new ending phase when completing a Community Expedition aggregates your personal achievements and offers monetary rewards that you can carry towards your main save.
- Atlas head shield – This exclusive helmet is awarded to all travelers who complete the Omega Expedition. A soft but unchanging heartbeat is heard in…
- Grab Outlaws tribute – Cornered pirate dreadnoughts can surrender the battle and will part with their stash of ill-gotten loot in exchange for mercy!
- Final effects from Atlas Path – The Atlas Trail conclusion has been visually improved and reworked to create a more spectacular finale.
