Admittedly, last month was a bit light when it came to game releases. Although this is hardly a surprise to experienced gamers, as the summer months usually see the lowest number of notable releases.
But now that we’re in the middle of summer and about to celebrate Independence Day for us Americans, can July make gaming as much fun as I will later this week? Here’s our full Niche Games recap for July:
The first descendant
The First Descendant is the latest looter shooter to be released. This time developed by Nexon as a free-to-play title, although despite the zero price tag it still comes with high-quality graphics and gameplay.
Players will work together in groups of 4 as they take on various powerful bosses with their arsenal of weapons, weapons and accessories. Each character has their own unique playstyle, while bosses present interesting gimmicks that offer players engaging strategy and teamwork.
The First Descendant will be released on July 2 for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and PC (via Steam).
Zenless Zone Zero
The First Descendant isn’t the only major free-to-play title, as HoYoVerse returns with a new gacha game in Zenless Zone Zero. Unlike their previous titles set in fantasy or sci-fi. ZZZ is a more modern urban adventure where players take on the role of agents battling it out in “the Hollow”.
As with their other games, ZZZ features numerous anime-style characters, each with their own unique personalities, backstories, and gameplay mechanics where everyone can find a favorite.
Zenless Zone Zero launches on July 4 for PlayStation 5, iOS, Android and PC (via Epic games store).
Anger foot
Anger Foot is an over-the-top FPS in which players literally fall to pieces. They will face off against a variety of anthropomorphic gangsters who want to take them down.

Anger Foot will be released on PC on July 11 (via Steam).
Princess Maker 2 regeneration
Princess Maker 2 Regeneration is the remake of the classic princess raising game of the same title, celebrating its 30th anniversary. The new remake is based on the improved version of the game, which was launched twenty years ago.

Princess Maker 2 Regeneration is released for Nintendo Switch and PC (via Steam) on July 11.
Yaoling: mythical journey

Bō: Path of the Teal Lotus
While people are still waiting for Silksong, they can scratch their metroidvania itch with a beautifully handcrafted game in Bō: Path of the Teal Lotus. In this adventure, players follow a world heavily inspired by Japanese folklore.
