When you head to the supermarket you might want to look for ‘Lidl in the middle’, as the bargain brand’s latest tech offering is a Dyson dupe fan to get you through the heatwave.
At £59.99 it’s just a fifth the cost of the most affordable Dyson model. However, it’s worth noting that Dyson fans also purify your air, which is a great benefit for those who suffer from allergies or hay fever. You can view all currently available models on the Dyson website.
Dyson is coveted by fans not only for their iconic design, but also for their quiet power. The bladeless construction gives them an uncluttered appearance and makes them safe for little fingers or pets’ paws.
Lidl’s Silvercrest Bladeless Tower Fan has a very similar design, with a loop-shaped fan on a cylindrical base. Unlike many Dyson models, it doesn’t have any smart features, but comes with a remote control so you can change the settings without leaving the comfort of your sofa or bed. The Silvercrest comes in black or white, with a matching remote control.
We can’t comment on noise levels as Lidl doesn’t specify this, but bladeless fans tend to be quieter than their blade counterparts.
The Silvercrest has a digital display, 20 speed settings and four oscillation settings (30°, 60°, 90° and 120°). It has four operating modes: normal, natural, sleep and power. It also has a shut-off timer that you can set for up to 8 hours.
It’s a 35W device, meaning if you use it at full power it will only cost you about a penny per hour to run.
You can see the Silvercrest Bladeless Tower Fan on the Lidl site, but you can only buy it in the store.
