For Resort, Emily Smith from Lafayette 148 wanted to do something that mother nature celebrated. ‘So she and her team packed and went to the North Pole area in search of the Noorderlicht. In Norway they went on many different adventures and tried to see the heavenly show. “It is not obvious that you will see those things; the first night there was a snowstorm, so we booked a Tour – you have to chase the light.”
And pursuing the light she did, infusing her new collection with holographic details and their Solid-Color counterpart, a heavenly pastel-colored palette. In the previous category there were a super-thin gold-cracked leather explorer jacket and midi-length skirt, a wise beige sweater woven with very insensitive raggoud and all the ways of zulkins and swarovski stones and buttons. A Northern Lights print in blurry pastel colors was directly developed from a photo that Smith took in Norway and used for a floating, A-Line dress laminated over a spaghetti band slip with allose sequins and another crispy tan suit with soft pastel-colored brush strokes.
“Everything really speaks to the movement of the lights – you know, they are not static – they actually dance in the air, it’s so beautiful,” Smith added. The Line -Up offers her devoted something for every moment of their lives: liquid silk dresses or the cool alternative from the 90s of a ball in the ball in the counter with a classic knitted for evenings; and heavy cashmere ribbed pants, coated cotton “Expedition jackets” and workhorse jerseys (including a remix of the Classic Fair Isle with color fields instead of the classic geometric patterns), because where their very non-static life could also take them.
