Kate Middleton And Prince William have thanked the public for the outpouring of sympathy and good wishes following the Princess of Wales’s announcement that she diagnosed with cancer, RadarOnline.com has learned.
“The Prince and Princess have both been deeply touched by the kind messages from people here in Britain, the Commonwealth and around the world in response to Her Royal Highness’s message,” a Kensington Palace spokesperson said on Saturday.
“They are deeply touched by the warmth and support of the public and are grateful for the understanding of their request for privacy at this time,” the statement continued.
Middleton revealed in a heartfelt video released Friday that she is in the early stages of chemotherapy treatment that is following her abdominal surgery in January.
“I wanted to take this opportunity to personally thank you for all the wonderful messages of support and for your understanding while I was recovering from surgery,” she said.
“It has been an incredibly tough few months for our whole family, but I have had a fantastic medical team who have taken great care of me, for which I am so grateful.”
“I am doing well, and getting stronger every day by focusing on the things that will help me heal in my mind, body and spirit,” Middleton continued. ‘Having William by my side is also a great source of comfort and reassurance. As does the love, support and kindness shown by so many of you. It means so much to both of us.”
“We hope you understand that as a family we now need some time, space and privacy while I complete my treatment,” she added. “My work has always brought me a deep sense of joy and I look forward to being back when I am able to do so. But for now I must focus on making a full recovery.”
