The word of the season for Michelle Ochs by Hervé Léger: Allure. And her motto? “Give her a reason to shop.”
Ochs and her colleague designers have the Herculean task to inspire a consumer who, as is generally reported by transactions in the industry, becomes less interested in entering into the luxury market. But she seems to trigger the new status quo, you could say that she actually enjoys this decades old. (Hervé Legér will be 40 this year.)
Resort, which covers the holiday season, is crucial for a label as a léger with a proven record in event dressing. OCHS reports that they “received a grip” with the introduction of woven styles as a supplement to the famous Bodycon -Brevisels of the brand. Her loosening from other silhouettes has also helped her to help things ahead.
There were also other novelties. A company in the Léger archives inspired the return of a basketweave technology; Ochs has placed it under the bust for an elegant and flattering effect. Another archive found the stretch side that Ochs used on slimming dresses. Also nice and a good reason to be shopping a Spray Metallic Ombré treatment OCHS developed to imitate the characteristic bandage effect of the brand without the actual stratification, and a flow-like foil on a few divorces that reads both the actual hardware and a cooler version of a Polka dot. OCHS has also worked on introducing leather, such as on a sexy midi-length red slip and playing transparency with mesh inserts. She even ventures into size. These have all been welcome introductions that she reports that her customer has been receptive.
Yet the most impactful she has done with the dressing dress itself. Which means that it is sometimes longer and occasionally a looser looser, knew or deconstrating, she embraced the icon without having the output dictated too much. “People love the variation in lengths we have given,” said Ochs. “We teach her that it is not just tight mini dresses!”
