The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom just got a new trailer, and it gives us our first look at Zelda in her swordsman form, where she turns blue, da ba dee da ba di, and starts stabbing away at the bad guys, while part of her war against the color purple.
It won’t be long before the game comes out – literally next month, in fact, on September 26th – so it’s nice to see Nintendo offering those who have been desperate to see Zelda star in her own game another treat with the previous trailers the game has become.

You can watch the new trailer below. Here’s a quick summary from me: The King Gets Eaten by the Purple Rift Thing, Zelda Isn’t Happy, Zelda Does Some Platforming, Zelda Turns Blue and Kills Things in Her Swordsman Form, Zelda Meets a Guy Who Can Make Her Little Robot Things to fight on her behalf until they are crushed, compilation of Zelda doing things, ending with splash.
And here’s what Nintendo says about the swordsman form, which is the main new thing here: “During her adventure, Zelda will find a mysterious sword, allowing her to briefly transform into a powerful swordsman form and fight enemies head-on! It doesn’t say she turns blue, but she does when you pick up the sword, which is basically a power-up that only lasts for a short time.
The sword can also be used to knock down barriers in Zelda’s path. Oh, and you replenish the meter by collecting energy in the Still World. Whether that energy comes from the aliens in a certain Europop music video from 1999 is currently unconfirmed.
