“I felt that we should really get someone who is powerful as a shaman to come back to lead us to peace, love and brotherhood.” This was Rei Kawakubo’s remark on a Comme des Garçons show for a collection not entitled Suits, but grab. Fully appropriate, Shaman Wise, the room was just as sticky as Temazcal Sweat Lodge: “Sorry it’s hot, but it’s hot”, was the hot take of one CDG guru.
In fashion, a sauna came a first glance to follow the precedent for everyone. It was a kind of suit in which you could see the architecture of the jacket and the shirt. There were pants. However, these details were double overwhelmed by the cut sectional structure of the jacket plus the intense top-to-toe pattern. The next non-suit, in another pattern, was cut with a long jacket and prominent fan-sliery hip sections.
Like often, Kawakubo supplied its appearance in grouped phases. In the second part, the tailor -made form was deconstructed by zippers and villains and usually presented in black. Extra exo-warningen were layered over a number of looks, scales from which they seemed to be semi-binding. A knitted dominated section saw sweaters formed from divided sections or scars with slices in Fontana style.
Paler Not-Suits in Light Wool contained prosthetic extra collars in gray sweater and pleated pants and shorts. There was part of the classic Comme Triple layering: cropped jackets over Ruche-lined shirt over Kilts, in a densely woven polycotton exercise. Sometimes Non-Uits were covered in normal material with dresses or in with a cycling cardigans in the same intensely colored geometric patterns used at the beginning. A series of pieces in rainbow stripes repeated the dressing construction that we had seen before. Bicolor Not-Suits played purple against gray chalk stripe, with sections with zipper that run through trousers, so that the carrier can selectively display opportunity panels.
The appearance was all styled with mega and multi-edge basebar caps whose crowns were formed by the fitting of material. These were worn over long black braided wigs and black Oxford shoes with lace lids. There was humming, singing and throat countries on the soundtrack. The room was an oven of concentration only broken due to a frenzy blow. At the end the applause was loud before the crowd broke for the promise of cooler air outside on rue auber.
