The update after the launch and the DLC schedule for Sid Meier’s Civilization VII discombulates me somewhat, because the image above is strange to think of the own historical progression screens of CIV 7. But that creepy resemblance also pleases me because I now joke Can “lead all route maps to Rome”.*

In case you have missed it, the new 4x strategy Jobbo is out 11 February. Developers Firaxis have now outlined plans to update it, which extend from the usual balancing and bug fixes to various new card types, possible multiplayer functions and age settings.

That’s all of A steam post Those comments have that the developers “have an apparently endless list of ideas”. I also have endless ideas – becoming an expert in ToadStools, writing a feature film inspired by both event horizon and the Oresteia, inventing the Hammer or Dawn Weapon from Gears of War, so that I can write bad slogans on my local football field, who Finish this, news item before 5 p.m. But as we all know, people are not endless, and it is possible that some of the big plans of the Civilization 7 teams do not flourish.

“The first set of updates we will offer are those that are directly focused on the game as it looks now,” notes De Steam Post. “There will be some bugs to solve, many balance changes to make, and we know that there are places in the gameplay and user interface that can be improved with a number of improvements in the quality of life. You will regularly see updates of us in all these areas ”

In addition to this routine adjustment, they give priority to the “functions below that have not been fully achieved for our first launch”. They do not have arrival dates, but there are certainly developers working on them.

– Add teams to multiplayer – games so that we can let you play cooperatively

– Expand to 8 players for multiplayer in all ages by refinements to our distant land system

– so that you can choose your start and final age to make single or double age games possible

– offers a greater variety of card types

– Add in HotSeat Multiplayer

The post is also about some of the upcoming additions to the upcoming nation nurser. They will be grouped in theme “Content collections” that include new leaders, civilizations and miracles of the world – all that are released in the course of a few months instead of in one blob.

The first of this boutique sounding groups is the intersection of the World Collection, which will be rolled out in March 2025. It will arrive in two doses, the first “of which has long existed favorites” Carthage and Great Britain, plus the new leader Ada Lovelace, “who has a way to control a game world, other than all others”. A kind of analogue AI revolution, perhaps? The second intersection of the world falls Simón Bolívar and the completely new CIVS Bulgaria and Nepal.

The full Steam post also discusses the victory types of the game and how they hire themselves in the new age system. It has been a while since I played CIV well – I think CIV 5 was the last thing I really sold my soul to. I am curious how ages change things in practice, although I am disappointed to hear that the new 4x uses Ye Scurvy Denuvo DRM.
