Milan are preparing for the Italian Super Cup semi-final against Juventus in Saudi Arabia and there is quite a change in store for the team. Former Porto boss Sergio Conceicao will oversee his first match coaching against a Juventus team where his son Chico Conceicao plays. But while there is a lot of news, Milan will have their talisman back in the form of American Christian Pulisic.
Pulsic had been absent since early December with calf and ankle problems and was out for a spell in which Milan won two games and drew two, leaving manager Paulo Fonseca behind. With eight goals and six assists in all competitions, Puisic’s presence was missed during this period when Milan’s attack went cold.
Facing a stiff Juventus defense, Milan need everything they can get, which is why Pulisic’s return couldn’t come at a better time. With a place in the final against Inter at stake, there is extra fire for a Milan derby.
Pulisic will also get the chance to face his national teammate Weston McKennie, who is in Thiago Motta’s XI, while compatriots Tim Weah and Yunus Musah will have to start the match on the bench. With the possibility of four Americans taking the field, this is also one for national coach Mauricio Pochettino to keep an eye on.
